14 February 2013 - Raffles, The Seychelles

Valentine's Day, we wouldn't have remembered if the staff at Raffles hadn't reminded us.

Our bed decoration on Valentine's day

Another day in paradise, early morning dip in our plunge pool, off to breakfast - so much choice - then off in the hire car to see a little more of the island we didn't see yesterday.

Not far up the road from Raffles is Anse Lazio which is reportedly one of the top 5 beaches in the world. It is very nice, white sand, beautiful blue water (no seaweed) in a small bay surrounded by small green hills on each side. However we do think some of our beaches in Australia are the same if not better, just depends on your taste.

We drove up a look out road with lots of deep pot holes & thought the car might get stuck but Terry's driving saw that we didn't. The top of the lookout is called "Zimbabwe", not sure why. Atop this lookout is a number of communication towers and power lines all fenced off and no real view. However on the way down there were a number of spots on this one car road that were picturesque.

Once we safely descended we headed back to Raffles. The car was being picked up at noon.
We headed to the pool which is actually 2 olympic size pools in a semi circle shape with very warm water, so not as refreshing as our plunge pool.

We got a couple of sunbeds in the shade but it was so hot we didn't last long and headed back to the room. Spent the afternoon in our plunge pool and read our books. Had a G&T as the sun went down.

Neither of us were very hungry given we'd done so little during the day.
We had a light meal in the pool cafe and hit the sack about 10.
